After the initial bout of attraction and love towards each other, couples face the problem of ‘In attraction’  towards their spouse. Also, this leads to guilty feelings among many. But why is it that one stops desiring for their spouse?

There can be many reasons some of them can be

Behavior: If your spouse had behaved badly in a way that you had not accepted you might have lost the respect you had for your spouse and this may have caused the desire you had for your spouse to die within you. This happens when some husbands notice their wives flirting with other men, and it may also happen when women notice their husbands resorting to illegal behavior.

Emotional or Physical Trauma:
If your spouse has abused you mentally or physically, you will obviously have no desire towards the person. You need to take help as soon as possible and get out of this traumatic situation as soon as possible.

Betrayal:
If your spouse has cheated on you, you may sense a feeling of rejectance towards your spouse. But if both of you have decided to work on the marriage, then give your self some time and work on accepting your spouse, in spite of what has happened.  It takes time for wounds to heal.

Communication:
Sometimes one loses desire for their spouse because of anger. Anger because the spouse is not spending enough time with them or is hardly at home.  In such cases it is best if the couple has an open discussion about what is troubling them and is hampering their relationship.

Identify why you have lost desire in your spouse and deal with the issue right away.
