Are you very irritated with the lack of sleep you are getting everyday, thanks to your husbands snoring habits. Well, many a marriages break due to this one reason.
However, there is more to snoring, it is considered to be unhealthy and your husband who snores is not doing it intentionally but is doing it due to limited passage of breathing. This on the other hand is very harmful and needs to be treated medically.
Here are some tips on how you can help your husband who snores a lot.
1) Make sure he sleeps on a firm pillow; a soft pillow causes throat muscles to relax and narrows the air passageway.
2) Sleeping on the side also causes snoring to stop.
3) Eating heavy food before sleeping is a big no-no, as it tends to push the diaphragm up and narrows the air passageway, causing one to snore.
4) Inhaling steam before going to bed helps moisturize the throat and reduces congestion, helping prevent snoring.
5) If your husband tends to snore a lot, then his consumption of chocolates, cakes and bakery items should be considerably reduced. Your husband may hate you for this, but it is better to be “Cruel to be Kind” at times.
6) Smoking before going to bed tends to cause inflammation and swelling of the throat thus increasing tendencies to snore. Therefore, smoking before bed should be avoided.
7) Taking in a little honey before going to bed proves to be very useful.
8) If overweight, efforts should be made to shed the extra weight as people who are obese tend to snore more and are more likely to suffer from its side effects.
9) Consulting a doctor and using anti-snoring nasal sprays as prescribed will also prove to be very useful.
It is better to help your husband deal with his snoring habits rather than fuming and fretting about it. Helping your husband deal with his snoring habits will also help you save his life from the dangerous effects of snoring.
