Stress can greatly affect one’s marriage, according to researchers stress levels have greatly increased amongst people due to recession in the market.
And increase in stress levels in a marriage, unfortunately leads to breakups and ends up in divorce. This is an alarming trend since a healthy marriage is said to boost the immune system and an unhappy marriage on the other hand leads to dissatisfaction and affects the health of the individual greatly.
How and Why Does Recession Affect Marriages?
1) Lack Of Finance: Couples, who have been used to living with increased salaries, suddenly find it difficult to live with less money and compromise by giving away their luxuries. This frustration of not getting what one wants affects one’s marriage to a great extent. And in order to deal with this loss some of the spouses may resort to drinking and smoking.
2) Sudden Shock: The constant threat to one’s job, adds to stress levels in a person making him/her very impatient.This leads to arguments and fights at home further affecting an individual’s marriage.
3) Increased Workload: Another cause of stress amongst couples is the increased workloads that come with recession. Companies constantly push the employees to prove their worth at times of recession, causing one to be worked up constantly.
4) Less Communication: Increased workloads causes a state of tension at home and office causing one to be on the edge always. This is the time when romance is put aside and couples get very critical about each other.
How To Overcome This Stress
Marriage is a beautiful sacrament and efforts should be taken to maintain these relationships over a long period of time. Some measures an individual can take are.
